It is poetry for people that don't like poetry, huh. Color me surprised, though really I shouldn't be after reading Hartness' other works.
There was a poem or two that I didn't enjoy all that much, but the rest were really great. A lot of them got my eyes pretty moist because of the truth and just the brutally honest commentary. It's really quite beautiful. What makes them even more so is the fact that they aren't written in perfect poetic form, it's just free style. Hartness doesn't try to make the most obscure analogy to describe something simple, he just comes out and says what he wants. I appreciate that.
For a couple bucks this collection is definitely worth it. It'd be worth it even if the price was a lot higher.
